Premium Dried Currants for Baking and Everyday Recipes

Tiny, dark and intensely fruity currants for baking, breakfast bowls, salads, couscous and snack mixes.

SpiceBloom Dried Currants are made from Greek Corinth grapes that are sun-dried into small, dark dried fruit with a concentrated natural sweetness. Their compact size distributes easily through doughs, batters, cereals and savoury dishes.

The currants are practically seedless and lightly coated with vegetable oil to help reduce sticking. Use them in hot cross buns, fruit cakes, scones, biscuits, muffins, porridge, salads, rice dishes or homemade trail mix.

Baking tip: Soak the currants in warm water or tea for approximately 10 minutes, then drain well before adding them to dough or batter when you prefer a softer, plumper texture.

Corinth grapes are small grapes traditionally used to produce dark dried currants. Sun-drying concentrates their sweetness and fruity flavour, while their small size makes them particularly useful for baking and recipes where evenly distributed dried fruit is preferred.

Quick Idea: Warm Currant Couscous Salad

A simple sweet-and-savoury side dish for roasted vegetables, grilled foods or lunch bowls.

→ Cooked couscous

→ A handful of dried currants

→ Chopped parsley or mint

→ Lemon juice and olive oil

→ Toasted almonds, optional

Fluff the warm couscous, stir through the currants and herbs, then dress with lemon juice and olive oil. Finish with toasted almonds when preferred and season to taste.
